There is a well-known story about a little girl who is overwhelmed when she sees thousands of starfish washed up on shore. She asks her mother what can be done to save the starfish before they drown. Her mother picks one up and throws it back in the ocean. One at a time was her reply.

I learned many lessons from this story. Mainly, it has reminded me to pay attention to those in my community.
